Bruno Pasquinelli is a builder: of homes, education, and futures. As president of Pasquinelli Construction Company, he’s built more than 20,000 homes in seven states. But it’s in his role as UIC supporter and donor that he’s touched countless more lives.
Pasquinelli developed his appreciation for the medical center and university as a patient of cardiologist George T. Kondos, MD. While attending an event honoring Kondos, Pasquinelli heard his cardiologist speak of the need for the best teaching tools, including the “Harvey” Cardiopulmonary Patient Simulator.
After the event, Pasquinelli offered to pay for the latest Harvey, which was completely redesigned in 2005. The life-sized manikin replicates symptoms of 30 different disease conditions of the heart and lungs. Kondos and his students named their new Harvey simulator “Bruno” in honor of Pasquinelli.
Pasquinelli also supports UIC as a member of the UIC Medical Advancement Council and the Gastrointestinal and Liver Disease Council. “I have met great people at UIC, including doctors, researchers, nurses and business leaders,” says Pasquinelli. “It’s an honor for me to sit down with such intelligent, interesting and dedicated individuals.”
