“Friends of UIC Pediatrics” was founded by a group of philanthropic volunteers that have recognized the crucial need to support UIC Pediatrics. The resources of the Department are extremely limited. This is the result of the economic conditions of the patient population and very poor reimbursement levels from insurance companies and the state government. However, UIC welcomes every patient that comes to them without regard to money, insurance or resources. Patients receive compassionate and high quality medical care. These precious children can survive and thrive if provided with the complex treatment protocols that are available.   You can make a difference...please join us in support of our mission to “Help Kids Heal.” Best regards, Maria Lampros
