Open Procedure Skills for Residents and Students

Information coming soon

During scheduled Open Procedure Skills days and times, the skills lab will be available to all students and residents who wish to hone their skill in the available procedures.  Procedures that will be available are:  Lumbar Puncture, Basic Airway Management (Oxygen delivery & Bag-Valve-Mask), Advanced Airway (Intubation), Sutures, Arterial Blood Gases, IVs, and Phlebotomy (Venipuncture).  Instructors will be available to assist when necessary and checklists will be available for each procedure. When the lab is busy we ask that you work on a procedure for a reasonable period of time and then move on to something else so everyone may have a chance to work on the procedures they need as well.  Professionalism, courtesy and respect are expected at all times.

Open Simulation Lab for Residents and Students

For more information regarding the Open Simulation Lab please visit the Simulation Page.

Skills labs will take place at the UIC Graham Clinical Performance Center #1 (E116).

Checklists, instructors, and videotaped instructions will also be available at the skills labs. Please note that there is no instruction available for Resident skills labs.

If you would like to practice on any of the other skills models prior to graduation, please contact the GCPC. If there is enough demand, we'll schedule some additional dates.
